September is National Library Card Signup Month, a time when we join the American Library Association and libraries across the country to remind everyone that signing up for a library card is the first step on the path to academic achievement and lifelong learning.
Our library offers everything from early literacy programs and resources to virtual homework help and online skill development classes — helping to transform lives and communities through education. With a library card, learners of all ages have the tools to succeed and endless opportunities to pursue their dreams and passions with access to technology, media resources, physical materials, and educational programs.
In addition to our robust online resources, this September we are offering a wide range of interactive and engaging programs, including two virtual author talks, virtual and in-person story times, a meeting of our virtual NCW Writers Group, an English/Spanish conversation group, a virtual sip-and-paint class, five outdoor movie nights, community yoga, and reading and crafts at two local farmers markets across our region. Check out our event calendar for locations and times.

To help spread the word about the power of libraries, the American Library Association is also hosting a contest on social media. Make a library-related post on Instagram or Twitter using #LibrariesEmpower by Sept. 22 and you will be entered into a drawing for a $100 Visa gift card.
