NCW Libraries has launched a new service to better serve book clubs and students around North Central Washington.
Kits of books and study questions are now available for checkout. The book club kits contain 12 copies of the same book and are available in a wide range of genres. The classroom kits have 25 copies of the same book and come in a variety of reading and grade levels.
There are currently about 300 different book club kits and 140 different classroom kits available for checkout.
The new service marks a change in the way NCW Libraries serves its book clubs and teachers and is designed to simplify the check-out process and make it more accessible to everyone. All library patrons can now search the lists of available books online and check out either a book club or a classroom kit. Limited numbers of book club kits are also available at each library.
The kits can be requested from anywhere in the five-county library district and delivered to one of the 30 branch libraries. However, they cannot be ordered through the Mail Order Library.
The book club kits can be checked out for up to six weeks and the classroom kits for up to 90 days.
