Meet Mexican-Canadian novelist and short story writer Silvia Moreno-Garcia in a free, virtual author program on Oct. 6 at 7 p.m.
Moreno-Garcia is the author of several critically acclaimed novels, including Gods of Jade and Shadow, Mexican Gothic, Velvet Was the Night, and The Daughter of Doctor Moreau (released in July). Her writing has won numerous awards and honors, such as the Sunburst Award for Excellence in Canadian Literature of the Fantastic, Ignyte Award, Locus Award, British Fantasy Award, Pacific Northwest Book Award, Aurora Award, and Goodreads Award.
In addition, she has edited several anthologies, including She Walks in Shadows, a 2016 World Fantasy Award winner. Moreno-Garcis is the publisher of Innsmouth Free Press and a columnist for The Washington Post. She co-edited the horror magazine The Dark with Sean Wallace from 2017 to 2020.
