The Coulee City Public Library will temporarily close on Monday, January 27th to allow the library to move to a new location.
We hope to reopen the library on February 7 at the new location, 218 West Main Street.
We are thankful for the collaboration and partnership of the Port of Coulee City and the Town of Coulee City to move the library to this new, improved location. The majority of our library buildings, including the Coulee City Library, is owned by the local municipality. NCW Libraries operates the libraries by providing the staff and everything within the library including books, materials, technology, programs, etc.
“We are grateful to the Port of Coulee City, the Town of Coulee City, and Mayor ShirleyRae Maes for providing this improved location for our library. The new space is open and flexible, maximizing the square footage. It is easy to navigate and will be useful for the whole community,” said April Harward, Coulee City Branch Librarian.
We are bringing in improved shelving and furniture to the new location, replacing items from the previous location. The new shelving and furniture are repurposed from other library locations that have gone through the Reimagining Spaces Project.
As we get closer to the reopening date, we will share more information. We have a tentative Open House scheduled for Wednesday, February 12 from 3:00PM – 5:00PM.
If Coulee City Library is your home library, we encourage you to visit other NCW Library locations during this closure. Your NCW Libraries card gives you access to materials at all 30 of our library locations as well as our Community Bookmobile. Check out programs and resources at Ephrata, Quincy, Grand Coulee, and Moses Lake. Please note that the Soap Lake Public Library is also temporarily closed.
The Mail Order Library is always available for anyone who would like to have library materials delivered to their home. A huge selection of digital materials, including eBooks, eAudiobooks, and streaming movies, is available on our website, 24/7.
