January is International Creativity Month, and what better time than the start of the new year to try something new or rekindle an interest in creating!
Our libraries offer many different opportunities for creating, from origami and slime making to knitting, coloring and painting! Here are some of the fun
creative projects our libraries are offering this month:
For Children
- Cashmere: Group painting activity, Jan. 10 3:30 p.m.; make stop-motion movies, Jan. 22 and 24 12:30 p.m.
- Chelan: Make a dragon’s eye and dragon’s egg, Jan. 16 3 p.m. and 3:30 p.m .
- George Make slime, Jan. 15 4:30 p.m.
- Okanogan: Beginning leather craft, Jan. 16 3:30 p.m.
- Peshastin: Simple origami, Jan. 10 4:15 p.m.
- Quincy: Make slime, Jan. 23 3:30 p.m.; make origami, Jan. 25 3:30 p.m.
- Waterville: Painting rocks, Jan. 11, 1 p.m.; watercolor resist painting, Jan. 18, 1 p.m.; photography, Jan. 25 1 p.m.
- Winthrop: Make your own tambourine, Jan. 11 3:45 p.m.
For Adults
- Cashmere: Birthday card making, Jan. 29 2 p.m.
- Chelan:
Ukulele circle, every Thursday at 1 p.m.
- Curlew: Knitting group, every Thursday at 1 p.m.
- Moses Lake: Sit & Stitch (knit, crochet, embroider, cross-stitch, ect.) every Wednesday at 4 p.m.
- Oroville: Adult coloring night, Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m.
- Peshastin: Fiber Fridays, knitting, crocheting or other portable fiber arts projects, every Friday 1 p.m.
- Republic: Batik dying for adults, 5 p.m. Jan. 14
- Soap Lake: Adult craft night, Jan. 24 5:30 p.m.
- Waterville: Stitch Sisters, knitters and crocheters of all ages and skill levels, Jan. 30 10 a.m.
- Wenatchee: 3D printing for adults and teens, 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Jan. 9 and 23.
